Next to making a will, planning your funeral is one of the most caring things you can for your family and friends.  It avoids confusion and conflict before your funeral.

But more importantly, it leaves your family with precious time to grieve rather than worry about whether you would prefer a burial or cremation.

Pre-arranging your funeral also lets you take time to consider the exact ceremony you'd like.

Are there any special customs you'd like us to honour?  Is there a piece of music you would like?  Do you have a favourite flower?

Only you know the answer to these questions.  If we know, we can carry out your wishes to the letter.

To do this, we can supply you with a Pre-Arrangement Sheet which includes all the legal details that are required when someone dies; it contains the details we need to contact the appropriate people as quickly as possible; plus it clarifies your preferences for your funeral.  This allows us to give you a good idea of the likely cost of your funeral.

If you wish to pre-pay your funeral expenses, we will use the information supplied in your Pre-Arrangement Sheet.  But you need to know that certain disbursements (supplied by outside businesses) cannot be guaranteed and these will be charged at the rate at the time of your funeral.

All funds paid by you will be invested in an ANZ trust account.  The bank can supply us with running balances for all our clients at any time.  These funds will not be assessed by WINZ as an asset (up to a maximum of $10,000 per person).  We require a minimum lodgement of $500.

Interest accrues on these funds in your favour, less any Resident Withholding Tax payable at 19.5% (subject to receiving your IRD number).  This interest is not included in your tax return since your investment is soley for future funeral exoenses.
