Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and venture into a world where you can sleep without screaming cars going past your window or sirens wailing in the distance. Stay in backcountry huts where the only sounds at night are the odd opossum that might be foraging for a bite to eat or the sound of morepork’s calling their neighbours over for a quick cuppa. Other wildlife can sometimes be seen during early morning and late afternoon like the red deer, pigs, hare’s and on some longer walks where I take you over high mountain passes and along alpine ridges, there is a possibility of seeing chamois.
I can take you to places where you will find peace, tranquillity, and introduce you to a world  of natural beauty . You will walk up ancient valleys, amble through forests hundreds of years old, hear the melody of beautiful song birds like the bellbird and tui. Maybe even see the elusive kiwi in it’s natural habitat.
If you want to visit the New Zealand’s South Island backcountry and experience tramping in some of our most scenic spots then “Real Tramping” guided tours are where you will find what you are looking for.
