| St Arnaud |
|
St Arnaud is in the heart of Tasman District's winter playground and is the gateway to the Nelson Lakes National Park. Sheltering below the stunning St Arnaud Range, the modest township has experienced considerable growth in recent years as the number of people wanting to secure a holiday home or take up permanent residence has sky rocketed. The stunning natural beauty of the area and its location close to the District's only ski fields are proving great drawcards. The magnificent National Park, which includes Lakes Rotoiti and Rotoroa, also offers great opportunities for tramping, fishing, kayaking and boating. St Arnaud serves as an appealing launch pad for a whole host of outdoor adventures all year round. In winter it is the jumping off point for Rainbow Ski Area, which offers great alpine ski and snowboard runs as well as magnificent views over the lake. In summer the hiking trails in the national park and water sports on the lakes make St Arnaud a haven for outdoor pursuit lovers. |
